Now scythes are the only ones who can end life—and they are commanded to do so, in order to keep the size of the population under control. Citra and Rowan are chosen to apprentice to a scythe—a role that neither wants. These teens must master the “art” of taking life, knowing that the consequence of failure could mean losing their own. Original and Mystifying This book is a dystopian novel, taking place many years into the far future. The Internet is an all-powerful sentient being called the Thunderhead, who governs the people. It handles the food and wealth distribution, medical care, and anything else needed. Humanity has conquered everything. There is no more sickness or disease. There is no more war. There is no more hunger. There is no more poverty. If someone gets injured or even killed, they get taken to a revival center, where...
