A Poem: Dear Piano

Image
Dear Piano, Then, I had played, And the world disappeared, My surroundings faded. Do you remember  Those long hours When I had visited you Every afternoon? Those hours had been frustrating Driven by dreams By expectations By hope. Fingers stiffly marching Stumbling. Almost giving up I left you behind. Until I hear a piece by Liszt I think to myself I could do that. And I found you again. Keys: White and worn Black and beat Fingers flitting far No longer marching. Flying. My smile broadening Like the crescendo I’m playing. When I find my heart too full of emotions As though it is overfilled My fingers spread across the keyboard. Where my soul spills out the feelings. Into the notes Into the music Into the sound. And I seek peace Among dead composers. Embedded within the blacks and whites, The music fills my soul. My pulse rises to match The pace of your song Each time. I wonder if you realize That even when I’m not with you I count the beats anyways. Now, I play, And the world disap...

A Reversal Poem

Image
I am unimportant, And I refuse to believe that We can change the world I realize this may be a shock, but Everyone deserves freedom Is a lie The Earth is flat In 30 years, I will tell my children that I have my priorities straight because I.Q Is more important than Saying "I can" I tell you this: Once upon a time Global warming didn't exist But this will not be true in my era Animals are going extinct Experts tell me  The sun will explode I do not conclude that The world will improve In the future, World War 3 will occur No longer can it be said that People are kind It will be evident that Covid-19 will kill everyone It is foolish to presume that  Humanity is Good *NOW READ IT AGAIN FROM BOTTOM TO TOP!* 😊 ~ Candria P.S. A Poem: I am the Rain

I Am The Rain I fall to Earth, pitter and patter, Skies turn dark, storm clouds gather,  I turn the sands damp and brown, The travellers hasten to town, Weeks of my absence, Have caused an imbalance, After the dust and the heat, To life, I am so sweet, I drum gently on the grass, And slide down the window, I cling to the warmth of your fingertips against the glass, Then I lose grip; I let go.

A Poem: Playing Piano

Playing Piano Fingers lower to rest on the keys, Glossy white and raised black tiles, Playing in harmony, several melodies, Sheets of music, piles and piles, Minuets and sonatas and interludes, Sharps, flats, trills, and scales, Lines of notes of multitudes, With superfluous little details, The cadence of the tempo is consistent, The notes sharp and clear trail out the door, People open their windows to listen, At the end, they’re left wanting to hear more, Constant beats, rhythm and rhyme,  A soothing salve for the sick, Step and rise, march in time, Pairing sounds, making music.

A Poem: Sun and Moon

Sun and Moon  The sun glows bright, Shining like gold, Emanating light, So Earth’s not cold, It stays in the sky the whole day, Giving us light so we can see,  But in the sky, it doesn’t stay, When the stars come out it stays away, The moon gleams, its light, a potion, Shining like silver, Guiding turtles to the ocean, Pushing, pulling the tides, but untouched is the river, As the moon rises, And the sun declines, The moon asks the sun, “Can you take the night shift this time?”

A Poem: The Sea

Image
The Sea The deep sea can sparkle like a gem, It can be calm, with whirling eddies, But the sea can also cause mayhem, The sea is large, it will not empty. The sea can be colorful, Different colors or hues,  The sea’s colors are wonderful, Aqua, turquoise, indigo blues. Full of different creatures, Possibly ones we’ve never seen, With a camera, the scenery, it captures, Seafoam blue or seafoam green. Stretching far across the horizon, More farther than anyone dreams, It’s then that I am enlightened, That the world is bigger than it seems.

A Poem: The Sky

Image
The Sky The sky turns different colors at each different time, There is a burst of vivid colors, at both dusk and dawn, Sometimes it is blue, sometimes gray, sometimes even lime, At night, a dark blanket coated with glitter but at morning, gone.  There are different names for them,  Like northern lights, sunrise, sunset, a clear day, or cloudless, Sometimes sparkling; a shiny gem, You can look up at the calming sky and hear silence.  However, sometimes the sky does go into a rage,  Stormy, rainy, roaring, are only some I can name,  Plants reach out toward the sky, like oak, redwood, or sage,  The sky has different emotions but is never lame.  The sky is quite a sight to look at though not many do, It helps us, keeps us alive with its atmosphere,  It is helpful, and serene too, Joy, sorrow, anger, different emotions sear.  It will always be right here
